Lao Football Federation agreed to appoint an Italian man aged 50, Mr Arena Gugliermo to be a head coach of Lao National Team on July 7 2023.

Mr Arena Gugliermo has UEFA Pro License and has experience in league competitions of different countries such as: Burkina Faso League Pro, Benin League Pro, Singapore S League Pro, Oman Premire League Pro, Algeria League Pro, Arabic Champions League, Marocco Botola Pro and Assistant Coach to Mr Philippe Toussier in Hangzou Greentown of China Super League Pro.

Mr Arena Gugliermo will be the head coach of U23 Lao National Team to participate AFF U23 Championship 2023 in Thailand during 17 – 16 August 2023. Lao National Team in group C with Philippines, Vietnam and AFC U23 Asian Cup 2024 Qualifying Round during 6 – 12 September 2023. Lao National Team in group I with Australia, Tajikistan and Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK).
